Obverse description Central ornate quartered shield bearing the arms of Paderborn and Pyrmont, with an inescutcheon of the Asseburg arms, surmounted by an elaborate episcopal crown. The shield is superimposed upon crossed sword and crozier, symbols of temporal and spiritual authority. Mintmaster's initials appear divided on either side of the shield. The surrounding legend in Latin capital letters reads the full titular inscription of Bishop Wilhelm Anton von der Asseburg.
