Additional information

Wilhelm Anton von der Asseburg served as Prince-Bishop of Paderborn from 1763 until his death in 1782, presiding over a diocese that had maintained its own coinage rights as an ecclesiastical principality of the Holy Roman Empire. The Pfennig issues of his reign are minor copper struck for local circulation in a territory whose economic life was perpetually overshadowed by larger neighboring states — Prussia especially.

The two-year window of 1766–1767 suggests a single limited authorization rather than ongoing production.
