Obverse description The Imperial German eagle (Reichsadler) displayed in high relief, rendered in the Type 2 style with wings spread and head turned to the right. The eagle bears a small heraldic shield on its breast, surmounted by a royal crown flanked by the spread wings. The mint mark 'A' appears in the lower field on either side of the eagle's tail, denoting the Berlin Mint. The design is contained within a raised rim with no surrounding legend.

Reverse description The large numeral '1' is prominently displayed in the center of the field, with a short horizontal bar beneath it. The circular legend 'DEUTSCHES REICH' arcs across the upper portion of the coin, while the date '1915' appears to the right. The denomination 'PFENNIG' is inscribed along the lower arc, flanked by two raised dots, all within a plain inner circle and reeded border.
