Comments

Kriegsgefangenen-Zweiglager Weiler was a branch prisoner-of-war camp operating under the German military detention system during the early war years. Camp-issued Lagergeld of this type was introduced specifically to prevent prisoners from accumulating Reichsmark currency — a security measure, not a convenience. Detainees could spend only within the camp economy, eliminating any incentive to hoard money for escape attempts.

The 1–2 Pfennig denominations from Weiler are among the least documented in the JP/Camb corpus for this facility, and surviving examples are scarce enough that condition is almost irrelevant to the question of availability.
