Obverse description Facing bust of the ruling prince in high relief, turned slightly to the left, wearing a diadem or crown, holding a scepter topped with a lily-form finial in the right hand. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic crude but expressive Romanesque style typical of 13th-century Austrian and Carinthian bracteate-influenced pfennige. The portrait is enclosed within a plain inner circle, with the irregular flan edge characteristic of hammered medieval coinage visible at the periphery.
