Obverse description Central field displays the rose of Lippe, rendered as a stylized five-petaled heraldic rose in hammered relief, surrounded by a decorative border of alternating six-pointed rosettes and annulets arranged symmetrically around the circumference. The design is characteristic of the crude hammered coinage typical of early seventeenth-century German petty currency. No legend is present; the entire field is occupied by the armorial rose device. The flan exhibits the irregular edges and surface texture consistent with hand-struck copper coinage of the period.
