Reverse description The reverse repeats the same composition as the obverse: within a central beaded circle, the two conjoined arms of Nuremberg — the Imperial eagle to dexter and the diagonal-striped arms to sinister — with the date 1596 arched above and the mint initial N below the shields. The surrounding triangular field is similarly enriched with densely engraved Renaissance scrollwork and foliate ornament, the execution slightly varying from the obverse in fine detail, consistent with a hand-crafted Probemünze of exceptional rarity.
