Obverse description Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the field, with spread wings and detailed feathering. An orb-shaped shield bearing the numeral '1' is placed on the eagle's breast. The four-digit date is divided and appears in the lower portion of the field, flanked by the eagle's talons. The design is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude style typical of small billon coinage of the period.
