Reverse description The reverse displays a large decorative monogram formed by two crossed letters, generally interpreted as the interlaced initials of the ruling Habsburg sovereigns, surmounted by an imperial or archducal crown at the apex. Smaller subsidiary letters or ornamental elements appear in the angles of the cross formed by the monogram. The field is otherwise plain, with no surrounding legend, consistent with the minimal design vocabulary of small-denomination hammered Austrian Pfennig coinage of this period. The strike is shallow and irregular across much of the flan.
