Obverse description Frontal bust of a bishop in high relief, depicted in stylized Romanesque fashion wearing a mitre and ecclesiastical vestments with ornamental detail across the chest. The figure holds a crozier in the right hand and an unidentified object, possibly a palm frond or sceptre, in the left hand. The field is plain with no encircling legend, consistent with anonymous bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage of the region. The overall style is characteristic of late 13th- to early 14th-century German episcopal coinage, with a bold, naïve artistic treatment.
