Obverse description Quartered shield divided by a plain cross, displaying the four-fold arms of Leiningen-Westerburg: two quarters bearing eagles and two quarters bearing crosses. The shield is set within a beaded or pellet border that encircles the central device. The coin is of irregular flan typical of hammered copper coinage of the early seventeenth century, with flatness and die weakness visible in parts of the field.
