| Obverse description | Quartered shield bearing the arms of Salzburg: to the left, a rampant lion in the first and fourth quarters; to the right, horizontal wavy bars in the second and third quarters, representing the traditional heraldic device of the Archbishopric of Salzburg. The date appears above the shield in the field, and the mintmaster's initial 'L' is placed below the shield.
