Obverse description Square klippe flan with a beaded inner circle enclosing the quartered arms of Nuremberg: dexter half bearing the Imperial eagle displayed on a plain field, sinister half bearing the diagonal bar (Schrägbalken) of the Hohenzollern arms. The date appears above the shield in Arabic numerals, and the mint initial 'N' for Nürnberg is placed below the shield within the inner circle.
