| Obverse description | Bipartite shield of arms divided per pale, bearing in the dexter field a rose (for Solms) and in the sinister field a rampant lion (for Hohensolms), all within a beaded border. The letter H appears above the shield as an initial mark or mintmaster's symbol. The design is rendered in a crude hammered style typical of small German territorial coinage of the late 17th century. |
