Obverse description Central field features two conjoined coats of arms side by side — the Saxon barry with a crancelin to the left and the Hungarian-style barry shield to the right — presented in a crude, hand-engraved style typical of small hammered Saxon pfennigs. A small mintmaster's mark or pellet appears at the base of the design below the shields. The date, partially legible, is struck at the top of the field above the arms. The irregular flan and flat relief are consistent with mid-sixteenth-century hammered coinage of the Saxon electorate.
