| Reverse description | The reverse of this small hammered copper pfennig appears uniface or nearly blank, with only flan surface visible bearing the incuse impression from the striking process. No distinct design elements, legends, or devices are discernible on the reverse, which is characteristic of many diminutive ecclesiastical pfennigs of the Bishopric of Eichstätt struck during the early seventeenth century. The irregular flan surface shows natural flow lines and hammer marks consistent with hand-struck coinage of this type and period. |
