Obverse description The crowned arms of Saxony displayed at center, consisting of the barry of ten or and sable with a crancelin (diagonal bend) in bend sinister, rendered in fine relief. A royal crown surmounts the shield. The circular legend K.S.S.M. (Königlich Sächsische Staats-Münze — Royal Saxon State Mint) appears around the field, one letter in each quadrant flanking the shield. The coin's border features a continuous row of raised beads.
