Obverse description Cross pattée occupying the central field, with a sword pointed to the left and a key pointed to the right displayed in saltire, emblematic of the episcopal authority of Bishop Johannes V Blankenfeld. The arms are rendered in low relief characteristic of hammered billon coinage. The irregular flan shows typical striking irregularities of the period. The design is contained within the plain field of this small medieval pfennig.
