| Obverse description | Full-length frontal figure of a mitred bishop, identified as Abbot Hermann I of Holte, depicted in high relief in the Romanesque style. The figure wears ecclesiastical vestments and a mitre, holding a pastoral staff (crozier) in the left hand and what appears to be a book or cross in the right. The composition is framed by a beaded inner border, with the Latin legend HERM - ANVS distributed in the field to either side of the figure. The striking is characteristically irregular, consistent with hammered medieval production. |
