Obverse description Central field displays a Gothic minuscule letter 'h', the initial of Duke Henry XVI (Heinrich XVI) of Bavaria-Landshut, rendered in raised relief in a bold, angular Gothic script. A small six-pointed star or asterisk ornament appears to the left of the letter, with a similar decorative element to the right, flanking the monogram symmetrically. The flan is irregular and roughly squared with clipped corners, characteristic of mid-15th century Bavarian hammered pfennigs. The field is plain and unadorned beyond the central device, with no surrounding legend. The coin exhibits typical die-struck irregularities consistent with hand-hammered medieval coinage.
