Obverse description Frontal bust of a bishop depicted in schematic, stylized fashion characteristic of medieval German bracteate-influenced coinage, wearing a mitre and holding a crosier; the figure is rendered in low relief with simplified facial features consisting of circular punched dots for the eyes and mouth. Foliate or wing-like elements flank the bishop on either side, likely representing decorative architectural framing. The overall design is executed in the crude but vigorous hammered style typical of 13th–14th century Bavarian ecclesiastical pfennige, with no visible legend on this face.
