Obverse description Central cross with splayed, lily-tipped arms set within a raised inner circle, with a stylized fleur-de-lis or foliate ornament occupying each quadrant of the field. The design is rendered in bold relief typical of mid-13th century German bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage, with an irregular flan and raised border ring.
