Reverse description The reverse displays the denomination inscription in two lines across the central field, reading '1' over 'PFENNIG', in plain upright Gothic-influenced lettering. The field is unadorned save for the denomination text, consistent with the utilitarian character of this low-value hammered silver issue. A beaded border of raised pellets encircles the legend, mirroring the treatment of the obverse. The irregular flan edges reflect the hand-cut blank preparation common to German States Pfennig coinage of the early 17th century.
