Obverse description Central field bearing the quartered arms of Salzburg — a divided shield with alternating heraldic charges — set within a beaded or twisted inner circle. The shield is rendered in low relief typical of hammered billon coinage of the mid-fifteenth century, with the surrounding border forming a rope-like or pearled annular frame. The entire design is contained within the irregular flan, with no legend present.
