Obverse description Central field dominated by a bold cross pattée dividing the field into four quadrants, with a crescent moon and star device in the upper right quadrant and a globus cruciger or orb motif in the lower left quadrant. The date appears to the left of the cross along the inner margin. A circular Latin legend reading HEIDELBERG * 1609 * runs along the periphery, separated from the central device by a linear border. The overall design is executed in the rough, hand-struck style characteristic of early seventeenth-century German hammered coinage.

Reverse description Essentially plain field bearing a single large Roman numeral I in the centre of the flan, denoting the denomination of one Pfennig. The surface is largely featureless and shows the characteristic uneven texture and flow lines of hammered silver production. No legend, border, or additional devices are present, consistent with the minimalist reverse design typical of small-denomination Palatinate coinage of this period.
