Obverse description Central field occupied by a large interlaced script cypher 'FR' (Fridericus Rex) rendered in ornate calligraphic style, surmounted by an elaborate electoral crown with visible arches and jewelled band. The monogram fills the flan with no surrounding legend, the unadorned field lending emphasis to the royal cipher. The engraving is executed in relief with flowing cursive strokes characteristic of early 18th-century German minor coinage.
