Obverse description A displayed eagle with wings spread occupies the full field, its head turned to the left and surmounted by a royal crown. At the centre of the breast, the eagle bears an escutcheon charged with the quartered Hohenzollern coat of arms, rendered in fine relief. The talons are prominently depicted at the base of the design, and the overall composition fills the flan to its irregular margins with no surrounding legend.
