Obverse description Central field dominated by a large ornate crowned cypher, composed of interlaced letters rendered in elaborate Baroque style, flanked on either side by sweeping foliate and acanthus scroll ornaments. The crowned monogram rises prominently from the field, its arched strands densely decorated with beading and relief detail characteristic of late 17th-century Saxon die engraving. The coin's milled border frames the composition with a fine toothed rim. No legend is present on this face, the entire design being devoted to the heraldic cypher.
