Obverse description Divided shield occupying the central field: the dexter half displays the Austrian fess (a horizontal bar on a plain field), while the sinister half bears the Carinthian lion passant. The date appears above the shield in Arabic numerals, centered within the upper portion of the coin. The overall design is characteristic of the small hammered Pfennig coinage of the Habsburg hereditary lands, with the shield rendered in a plain, functional style typical of mid-sixteenth-century Austrian bracteate-influenced small change.

Reverse description Plain, uniface reverse with no design or inscription, characteristic of small hammered Pfennig coinage of the Austrian hereditary lands of the mid-sixteenth century. The surface shows the typical flat, undifferentiated appearance resulting from the hammering process, with minor irregular surface texture inherent to the production technique.
