Reverse description Within a raised square or lozenge-shaped inner frame, the conjoined Gothic letters 'E' and 'A' in bold relief, serving as the monogram of co-rulers Duke Ernst (Ernest) and Duke Adolf (Adolphus) of the Wittelsbach dynasty, rulers of Bavaria-Munich. The letters are rendered in characteristic Gothic textura script of the mid-fifteenth century. The flat hammered flan displays the irregular polygonal outline typical of Vierschlag coinage of this period.
