Obverse description Within a rhombus-shaped (lozenge) border, a shield bearing the Styrian panther passant facing left, depicted with open mouth emitting flames, rendered in a crude hammered style typical of late 16th-century Austrian pfennigs. The last two digits of the date appear above the shield within the upper angle of the rhombus, as visible on the 1584 example where '84' is inscribed. The overall composition is uniface, with the design confined entirely to the obverse field.

Reverse description Uniface coin; the reverse is completely plain and smooth, bearing no design, legend, or inscription, as is characteristic of small hammered pfennig coinage of the Styrian duchy in this period.
