| Obverse description | Bracteate-style design featuring a single letter or initial set within a series of concentric raised rings filling the entire field, typical of the so-called Buchstabenpfennig ('letter pfennig') coinage of medieval Hildesheim. The central motif, a raised letter or mark, is enclosed by multiple circular grooves creating a distinctive bullseye or ring-within-ring pattern. The coin is uniface in appearance on this side, with no surrounding legend. The design is characteristic of the simple bracteate tradition of northern German civic coinage of the 14th century. |
