| Additional information |
Anselm Casimir Wambold of Umstadt governed Mainz through some of the most destructive years of the Thirty Years' War, including the Swedish occupation of the city from 1631 to 1636, during which the archbishopric's administrative and monetary functions were severely disrupted. That this tiny silver piece was produced at all across that span is noteworthy — the archbishop spent years in exile from his own see.
