Obverse description Bracteate-style hammered silver pfennig depicting a heraldic eagle displayed, rendered in a highly stylized medieval manner typical of Austrian Viennese pfennige of the mid-fourteenth century. The eagle's head is shown in profile with a prominent beak, its wings spread across the compact flan, and its talons visible in the lower field. The design is executed in low relief with characteristic irregularity of the hand-struck technique, with no surrounding legend or inscription. The flan is irregular in outline, consistent with medieval hammered coinage practice.
