| Reverse description | The reverse, as is typical of this thin hammered pfennig type, displays incuse mirror impressions of the obverse design, with only fragmentary and degraded vestiges of floral or foliate decorative motifs discernible in the field. The flan is notably thin and shows the characteristic distortion and flan cracking associated with medieval hammered coinage of this period. No inscriptions or legends are present. |

Albrecht I ruled Styria as part of his broader Habsburg consolidation following the Battle of Marchfeld in 1278, which extinguished Ottokar II of Bohemia's control over the region. These small pfennigs — bracteate-influenced but struck on thicker flans than typical Austrian issues of the period — circulated during years when Albrecht was simultaneously managing the Habsburg duchies and pressing dynastic claims that would eventually get him murdered by his own nephew in 1308.
