Obverse description Central field displays a double-headed imperial eagle with wings displayed, the heads crowned, enclosing within its breast a small oval escutcheon bearing the city arms of Isny. The eagle is rendered in the Germanic heraldic style typical of early seventeenth-century municipal coinage. The entire device is surrounded by a beaded inner border within a rope-style outer border, both characteristic of hammered copper pfennig coinage of the period. No legend is present on this die, the design relying solely on the heraldic device for identification.
