Obverse description Quartered shield bearing a plain cross, the arms of the city of Konstanz, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A six-pointed star is positioned above the shield at twelve o'clock. The entire device is set within a broad outer border of large pellets arranged in a continuous ring, characteristic of the hammered bracteate-influenced pfennig coinage of the Upper Swabian region.
