| Obverse description | Bare-headed draped bust of Rafael Carrera facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and short beard. The circumferential legend reads R. CARRERA FUNDADOR DE LA RCA. DE GUATEMALA, separated by the portrait. The engraver's signature FRENER F. appears in small incuse letters at the base of the neck truncation.
