| Obverse description | Central field bears the Mexican national coat of arms depicting a Mexican golden eagle, wings spread and facing left, perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, with a serpent grasped in its beak and talons. An oak branch appears to the lower left and a laurel branch to the lower right, framing the base of the design. The circumference is bordered by a decorative repeating chain-link or C-scroll motif. The legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arches along the upper periphery in Latin characters. |
