Obverse description The Cuban national coat of arms displayed centrally within a wreath composed of oak leaves on the left and laurel branches on the right, tied at the base. The shield bears the traditional tripartite design featuring a key between two coastal promontories, a rising sun, and a royal palm tree in the lower field. A Phrygian cap surmounts the shield, with a star at its apex, and a fasces with an axe flanking each side. The legend REPUBLICA DE CUBA arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 1 PESO appears in the lower field beneath the wreath.
