Perito Moreno is one of the few glaciers on earth that is not in net retreat — it periodically advances until it dams the Brazo Rico arm of Lago Argentino, building pressure until the ice bridge ruptures in a collapse that draws tourists from across the hemisphere. Argentina has returned to it repeatedly as a subject for commemorative issues, making this 2010 proof one of several silver strikes in a broader environmental series.
