Obverse description Central aluminium bronze field depicting a grove of yatay palm trees (Butia yatay), characteristic of El Palmar National Park in Entre Ríos province, rendered in fine relief. The park name EL PALMAR appears in small lettering above the palms within the centre. The surrounding copper-nickel ring bears the legend REPUBLICA ARGENTINA arching across the upper portion and BICENTENARIO across the lower portion, both in incuse capital letters.

Reverse description Central aluminium bronze field bearing the denomination 1 PESO in two lines at the top of the centre, beneath which a stylized radiant sun design is rendered in bold geometric relief, composed of intersecting curved rays emanating from a central sphere. The bicentennial commemorative dates 1810 and 2010 are inscribed in two lines within the lower portion of the central disc. The copper-nickel outer ring carries the year 2010 at the top and the national motto EN UNIÓN Y LIBERTAD arching across the lower portion, separated by a ring of small dots.
