| Reverse description | The central device depicts a Phrygian cap — symbol of liberty — radiating elongated straight and tapered sunbeams filling the field, a design derived from the standard Mexican cap-and-rays peso type of the period. The surrounding circular legend reads ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS along the upper arc. The denomination UN PESO appears along the lower arc, flanked on each side by the date 1914, all separated by small pellets. The entire design is enclosed within a milled border of short radial dashes. The overall execution is consistent with the emergency coinage struck during the Mexican Revolution. |
