(Translation: Alfonso XIII by the Grace of God, Constitutional King of Spain.)
Reverse description The quartered coat of arms of Spain occupies the centre of the field, displaying castles for Castile and lions for León in the principal quarters, with a central escutcheon bearing the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty, and the lower quarter bearing the chains of Navarre. The shield is surmounted by the Spanish royal crown. Flanking the arms on either side are the Pillars of Hercules, each wrapped with a scrolling ribbon inscribed PLUS and ULTRA respectively. Mint assayer initials S·G· appear to the lower left of the shield. The legend ISLAS FILIPINAS arcs across the upper field, and UN PESO is inscribed in bold letters along the lower field, all within a toothed border.
