Cuba's print relationship with Czechoslovakia's Státní Tiskárna Cenin began after the Revolution cut off access to Western security printers — De La Rue and American Bank Note Company were no longer options. STC Prague became the primary supplier of Cuban currency through the 1960s and into the 1970s, a printing arrangement that was as much a geopolitical alignment as a commercial contract.

The P#100 series ran through several signature varieties, and minor differences in the serial number prefix blocks can help narrow the period of issue within the 1966-dated run.
