(Translation: THE CENTRAL BANK OF THE ARGENTINE REPUBLIC Will pay the bearer on demand ONE PESO NATIONAL CURRENCY LAWS No. 12,962 AND 13,571)
Reverse description Central oval vignette of the Casa de Tucumán (Independence House), the colonial building where Argentine independence was declared in 1816, engraved with fine architectural detail and framed by an elaborate cartouche of twisted rope and wheat ears. Below the main vignette, the Argentine national coat of arms appears within an oval medallion, flanked by allegorical vignettes of industry and commerce — including a steam locomotive, a ship, and an aeroplane propeller — rendered in intaglio against a fine guilloche background in reddish-brown. The denomination numeral '1' appears at each corner, with 'PESO' integrated into the right guilloche rosette.
