Macrohon is a small coastal municipality on the southern tip of Leyte, and its wartime emergency currency is among the more obscure entries in Philippine guerrilla and civilian issue studies. During the Japanese occupation of the Philippines, dozens of provincial and municipal governments — cut off from Manila and from any functioning central banking system — issued their own scrip to keep local economies from collapsing entirely. Macrohon's issue falls within that broad category, though documentation on print runs, signatories, and redemption history for this specific municipality remains thin.

The wide date range reflects genuine uncertainty rather than a known series of distinct issues.
