The bank title "BANCO DE LA REPÚBLICA ORIENTAL DEL URUGUAY" encircles the central medallion, with "UNO" and the numeral "1" repeated at the cardinal points. Denomination cartouches reading "UN PESO" appear in the left and right margins, with large mirror-image numeral "1" vignettes anchoring the outer corners.
