Obverse description The national coat of arms of Guatemala occupies the central field, featuring a quetzal bird perched atop a scroll bearing the independence legend LIBERTAD / 15 DE SETIEMBRE DE 1821, flanked by crossed rifles with fixed bayonets and crossed swords. The armorial device is encircled by a wreath of laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The fineness designation 0,900 appears in the lower left field and the mint year in the lower right, both positioned outside the wreath base. The entire composition is bounded by a beaded border at the coin rim.
