Reverse description The reverse is printed in a uniform brown tone and centres on a large circular vignette bearing the coat of arms of the Province of Entre Ríos within a laurel wreath, surrounded by the legend "EL FONDO ES DE LA PROVINCIA DE ENTRE RIOS BAJO LA GOBERNACION DEL GENERAL ROCED0 · 1884 ·". The field is filled with an intricate geometric guilloche pattern of interlocking rosettes and repeated numeral "1" counters arranged in a symmetrical border, giving the note a highly ornate appearance.

The Banco Provincial de Entre Ríos operated under a provincial banking charter at a time when Argentina's monetary system was notoriously fragmented — each province capable of issuing its own currency with little coordination from Buenos Aires. Entre Ríos, sandwiched between the Paraná and Uruguay rivers, had an agricultural economy that generated genuine demand for locally circulating paper, and the provincial bank filled that role through the 1870s and 1880s.

The 1887 National Banking Law effectively ended provincial emission rights, making issues from this period the last of their kind for Entre Ríos.
